There are approximately 260+ property auctioneers currently in the UK
alone.... Here are some questions and answers about finding property for
sale at auction....
How many auctions are held each year?
...The number of auctions each auctioneer holds each year varies from
auctioneer to auctioneer, as does the number of properties the available at
each sale. However, last year over 30,000 properties were sold and hundreds
of auction sales.
Where can I get the property information?
...You have two options..... either ordering catalogues from each
individual auctioneer (Many will charge for this) or join IPDS for property
details for all areas in the UK.
I am only looking to buy a property locally, do I only need my local
auctioneers catalogues for all of the houses in my area?
...Not necessarily!!
Some of the larger
auctioneers do sell properties located in all areas of the UK at their sales, so for
example, a house for sale in the West Midlands could in fact be being sold
by an auctioneer in London!! IPDS solves this problem by providing a County
